Updated : Jun 5, 2026

Anushka Sharma has sparked debate online after sharing her support for homeopathy through a social media post. The actor reposted a video featuring renowned homeopathic physician Dr. Rajan Sankaran and stated that homeopathy has played an important role in her life and health journey.

Her post quickly attracted mixed reactions across social media. While some followers appreciated her for speaking about a personal experience, many others criticised the endorsement and questioned whether celebrities should promote alternative forms of treatment to large audiences.

Several users argued that public figures carry influence and should be careful while discussing healthcare-related subjects. Critics pointed out that homeopathy remains scientifically debated and said personal testimonials should not be confused with medical evidence.

Among those reacting was hepatologist Dr. Cyriac Abby Philips, popularly known as The Liver Doc, who strongly criticised celebrity endorsements of homeopathy and called for greater responsibility in public health conversations.

At the same time, supporters defended Anushka, saying she had only shared her own experience and did not advise people to avoid conventional medicine. Anushka has not responded publicly to the criticism so far.
